Hello friends of SK!

Things have been pretty crazy here at school but lately I've remembered the importance of God and everyday supernatural encounters with God. I know, you think I'm crazy. But I don't care! God has been opening doors and doing things I never thought possible.

They're great. And I'll be singing with them next week on Sunday! I'm telling you, things happen when you listening to where God is leading you. I feel like it all happened so fast. But I am sure excited!

If you're in town come to either the 9am or 11am service downtown at the Golden State Theatre!

Once I figure out how to put videos up I will post some from my summer in Chile. :)

Tired but Inspired

Hello friends and family of SK!

Thank you thank you thank you for coming to the Photoria Open House to see me play! I had a really great time and it was so good to see so many of you that I haven’t seen in such a long time.

Believe it or not, I’m back in CA for my second semester at MIIS. I’m excited to look for opportunities to sing while I’m here, since the music scene here is so lively!

New pictures should be up pretty soon both from the Open House and from my photo shoot with Photoria (www.iphotoria.com). Hopefully we’ll have some video up from various performances on my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/sonakaymusic)!

Thanks for keeping up with SK and my non-stop crazy endeavors as a musician and a translator/interpreter extraordinaire (not so much). J

Updates

Hello friends and fans of Sona Kay!!!

Life is finally starting to settle down for me here, as I’ve been in at least 5 different countries in the last month and a half of my life! But after a few weeks of seeing Europe and finishing up in Spain, I was ready to head home. I only had a couple weeks to get myself ready to go to a missions trip to the Dominican Republic, which I did with an awesome church down in Orlando, FL. I had an amazing time down in Florida as well as the DR—man those youth kids are so much fun, they’ve really got a blessed ministry down there. I know that I’ve been changed by them and now we’ve shared in an unforgettable week in Santo Domingo. Looking back there are so many things about the culture down there that I prefer so much to my own. I’ve been changed by their love for life and their expression of praise through dance and music—I feel I still have so much to learn from them! Hopefully I’ll get to go back next year.

As of now I am getting geared up to go out west. I’ll be started Grad school in California in late August, which leaves me just a few weeks to perform here in VA. We’ll keep you posted on whatever comes up.

In the meantime, thank you fans for constantly showing your support and love for SK. My concert in Granada was an absolute success, and I have all of you to thank, even if you weren’t there in person. Photos and video of that night will be posted shortly.

Keep an eye out for performances in August!!

Granada

Hello everyone!!

I can’t believe I have just under two weeks before I’m done with my program here! I’ve been enjoying Granada and taking advantage of everything it has to offer, but I’ll enjoy it even more after I finish with finals and papers, bleh.

In the meantime I’m gearing up for my Concert here in Granada!!! I’ve been blessed with this amazing opportunity—performing at La Tertulia, a well-known spot for intimate concerts and for artists who’ve made it big!! No pressure… I’ll be doing most of my songs off the album and then a few I’ve always got tucked under my sleeve. Hopefully I’ll be able to connect to Spaniards here through my music and I’m STOKED to even have the chance to do that.

I’ve got the most amazing group of friends here ready to publicize all week for me, including wearing signs around and posting advertisements wherever they can! I’m getting really pumped up for it. Now if only I had a guitar… -.^

I’ll be heading back to the states on the 16^th of June and hopefully holding a few little concerts before going on my missions trip to the Dominica Republic/Florida in July.

For everyone in school, FINISH STRONG! Congrats to those who’ve already finished!
