Things have been pretty crazy here at school but lately I've remembered the importance of God and everyday supernatural encounters with God. I know, you think I'm crazy. But I don't care! God has been opening doors and doing things I never thought possible.

They're great. And I'll be singing with them next week on Sunday! I'm telling you, things happen when you listening to where God is leading you. I feel like it all happened so fast. But I am sure excited!

Thank you thank you thank you for coming to the Photoria Open House to see me play! I had a really great time and it was so good to see so many of you that I haven’t seen in such a long time.

Believe it or not, I’m back in CA for my second semester at MIIS. I’m excited to look for opportunities to sing while I’m here, since the music scene here is so lively!

New pictures should be up pretty soon both from the Open House and from my photo shoot with Photoria (www.iphotoria.com). Hopefully we’ll have some video up from various performances on my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/sonakaymusic)!

Thanks for keeping up with SK and my non-stop crazy endeavors as a musician and a translator/interpreter extraordinaire (not so much). J

Life is finally starting to settle down for me here, as I’ve been in at least 5 different countries in the last month and a half of my life! But after a few weeks of seeing Europe and finishing up in Spain, I was ready to head home. I only had a couple weeks to get myself ready to go to a missions trip to the Dominican Republic, which I did with an awesome church down in Orlando, FL. I had an amazing time down in Florida as well as the DR—man those youth kids are so much fun, they’ve really got a blessed ministry down there. I know that I’ve been changed by them and now we’ve shared in an unforgettable week in Santo Domingo. Looking back there are so many things about the culture down there that I prefer so much to my own. I’ve been changed by their love for life and their expression of praise through dance and music—I feel I still have so much to learn from them! Hopefully I’ll get to go back next year.

As of now I am getting geared up to go out west. I’ll be started Grad school in California in late August, which leaves me just a few weeks to perform here in VA. We’ll keep you posted on whatever comes up.

In the meantime, thank you fans for constantly showing your support and love for SK. My concert in Granada was an absolute success, and I have all of you to thank, even if you weren’t there in person. Photos and video of that night will be posted shortly.

Keep an eye out for performances in August!!

I can’t believe I have just under two weeks before I’m done with my program here! I’ve been enjoying Granada and taking advantage of everything it has to offer, but I’ll enjoy it even more after I finish with finals and papers, bleh.

In the meantime I’m gearing up for my Concert here in Granada!!! I’ve been blessed with this amazing opportunity—performing at La Tertulia, a well-known spot for intimate concerts and for artists who’ve made it big!! No pressure… I’ll be doing most of my songs off the album and then a few I’ve always got tucked under my sleeve. Hopefully I’ll be able to connect to Spaniards here through my music and I’m STOKED to even have the chance to do that.

I’ve got the most amazing group of friends here ready to publicize all week for me, including wearing signs around and posting advertisements wherever they can! I’m getting really pumped up for it. Now if only I had a guitar… -.^

I’ll be heading back to the states on the 16th of June and hopefully holding a few little concerts before going on my missions trip to the Dominica Republic/Florida in July.

For everyone in school, FINISH STRONG! Congrats to those who’ve already finished!

Wow, it’s been a while! Please excuse my tardiness in updating everyone; I just got back from an amazing week-long trip to Valencia, where I stayed once again with my host parents from my first semester abroad. It was really great to see them again and experience the wonder of FALLAS!

I just want to give everyone a BIG HUGE THANK YOU for all the wonderful emails, comments, and encouraging words over the past few months. It’s hard to keep up with everything SK from here in Spain, but it’s so uplifting to know that people are being blessed by my music and that little by little I’m able to affect more and more people. Thanks so much for spreading the word.

Well believe it or not we’re in talks to put on some SK performances here in Granada, so please pray for us! The directors of my program have been so impressed with the CD and the website (ehem, all JENNY), and we’re trying to figure out some good ways to get the SK vibe going here in Spain. They’ve already asked to use one of my songs on a DVD project for one of the local high schools here! I had jenny send me a good number of CDs to sell, so let’s pray for some good opportunities!

First off, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for making Sona Kay @Daily Grind such a HUGE success!! The staff made sure to tell me what GREAT friends I have, and they’re more than happy to have me back anytime! Unfortunately, I won’t be back for another gig until I get back in June, which brings me to my next point: I’m in Spain!

I arrived just yesterday although it seems like it’s been a week already, here in Madrid. I’m staying with a friend from UVA and it’s been just phenomenal! Although I can’t quite say that about the plane ride over, my stay so far has been a great big wonderful Spanish mess! More on that when I move into my house in Granada on the 7th.

For those of you who don’t know I’m leaving, I’ll be taking off to Granada, Spain on the 31st of December [less than two weeks!] to study for 6 months before heading off to grad school in Monterey, CA next fall. Therefore, Sona Kay Music is racing against the clock to get CDs, jackets, gigs, etc. done before I leave! With the help of my fabulous manager, jenny, we’re getting it done. :)

***Some exciting news: I’ve just finished an interview with Strictly Global, a program that airs on “MHz NETWORKS: an independent, noncommercial, television network delivering international, educational and arts programming. MHz provides diverse cultural perspectives for a globally minded audience. Serving the Washington, DC area's 4.9 million residents, MHz NETWORKS features programs from around the world on air and online in more than 20 different languages.” [www.mhzworldview.tv] I performed “Fight for Me” and “Contra Corriente” and had an interview at MHz Networks. It was so much fun! The segment should air about the third week of January, so keep an eye out!! ***

I’ve lined up a pair of gigs back to back at Daily Grind Coffee Shop in Lorton, on the 28th and 29th of December, and while I know a lot of you may be out of town, I wanted an opportunity to perform, sell some CDs, and see people before I leave. We’ll keep you posted about dates & times, and hopefully we’ll see you there!
